Dilbert The Pilot

Robert Chesley Osborn was born October 26, 1904, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  He was an American cartoonist, illustrator and author.  Osborn enlisted in the U.S. Navy when World War II began with hopes of becoming a Naval Aviator but was placed in a special information unit where pilot training manuals were produced.  Osborn's character, "Dilbert The Pilot" was portrayed as an ignorant and blundering pilot that put himself and his crew members at risk.  Osborn produced thousands of individual drawings used in Navy training manuals and educational posters.

Some of our favorite Dilbert The Pilot posters are shown below.  All of the posters were scanned in high resolution from the originals and were contributed by Jason McKeon of Springtown, Texas.
